Today....

Well, you could probably cut through the tension in my office with a knife today. Considering the outcome of the election. It's pretty crazy. I just don't understand why some people can't agree to disagree on some matters. So what if you don't like the outcome, you are going to have to deal with it. Why can't more people have more of an open mind? Why does there have to be so many labels? Why can't people express who they are without having to defend it? And yes, I believe in world peace and everyone should have a puppy! Okay, just some of my thoughts.

I cannot agree with you more. I had some dual credit students who said some teachers wore black arm bands the day after the election. I think that was an inappropriate action on their part. If they supported McCain, then why not listen to what he said about showing the new president respect and trying very hard to work with him. And I'd say the same thing if it were the other way around - I do not understand why our country has become so polarized. I'm just an old hippie that wants to sing "All we are saying, is give peace a chance . . ." In other words, learn to get along people and let each one of us express our own political, religious, or whatever beliefs. I heard a Republican leader say that one of the reasons she believe her party lost was that why the Republican policy is to keep Government out of people lives, especially their business lives, that the last few decades the current party has seemed to want that, but then want the government to get too involved in people's private lives. I agree with her. Oop, forgot you didn't want to talk politics - just teasing, glad to hear your thoughts, and that I agree with them, but it would be fine if I didn't. jwfox

I can kind of, sort of relate. In our school cafeteria, there are to big screen TVs. One is usually tuned to CNN. The day after the election results came out, both of the TVs were off. The one day we should have been watching was the day they were turned off. Not to mention, only three of the teachers were talking about the results. It was insane! But yes, there was a lot of tension, and I feel that we should all get along. <3 Stacy
